Discovery, description, redescribing.

Nanotyrannus was discovered in 1942 by David Hosbrook Dunkle and described in 1946 by our old friend Charles W. Gilmore under the name Gorgosaurus lacensis.  in 1986 it was redescribed by Bakker, Currie, and Williams as Nanotyrannus lacensis.
